9 Must-Watch Movies on Peacock Right Now (July 2025)

‘Borderline’ (2025)

Sofia Minor (Samara Weaving) is a pop star with a major problem — she has an obsessed fan, Paul Duerson (Ray Nicholson), who thinks they are in love. After an initial attempt to establish contact lands him in prison, Paul escapes and, with the help of fellow inmate Penny (Alba Baptiste), breaks into Sofia’s mansion to profess his love for her. But Paul’s best-laid plans come undone as Sofia is ready with a security guard (Eric Dane) eager for revenge and her own resolve to stop Paul’s stalking once and for all.

While Borderline’s plot is a standard psycho stalker story that Fatal Attraction perfected nearly four decades ago, what elevates the movie is the performances of the two leads. As Sofia, Weaving adds yet another formidable female to her scream queen resume, while Nicholson shows a talent for lunacy that he must have inherited from his famous father, Jack. He has a gift for playing men with madness that isn’t too far off from The Shining’s Jack Torrance.

Borderline is streaming on Peacock.

‘Argo’ (2012)

The U.S. government needs help after six of its employees are left stranded in Tehran amid a terrorist attack. To save face — and their lives — the employees need help escaping without anyone noticing. That’s where Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) comes in — an infiltration specialist for the CIA who comes up with a brilliant extraction plan. With the help of a Hollywood makeup artist and film producer, Tony invents a fake movie, Argo, to provide their cover as Canadian filmmakers scouting locations for a sci-fi movie that doesn’t exist. It’s far-fetched, but it’s crazy enough to work — if Tony and his ragtag crew can pull it off.

Argo tells a story so unbelievable, it has to be true. Tony’s plan really did happen, and almost everyone was fooled into thinking Argo was an actual film that was in production. The 2013 Best Picture winner is a solid political thriller that’s also funny in all the right ways. As the old-school movie producer, Alan Arkin steals the show and has the film’s most memorable line, which is too inappropriate to repeat here.

‘Ma’ (2019)

In Ma, Octavia Spencer stars as Sue Ann “Ma” Ellington, a lonely woman who befriends a group of rowdy but well-meaning teenagers after she helps them buy alcohol at a local drugstore. To further ingratiate herself with their group, she offers up her place as a venue for the youngsters to throw parties and hang out. But Ma is needy, and her efforts to grow closer to the group drive them away. Soon, she resorts to stalking, violence and even murder to get what she wants.

2025's Best Thriller Is Now Streaming — and It Has an 84 Percent on Rotten Tomatoes

Ma has become a cult classic since its 2019 release, and with good reason — the image of Spencer gleefully running over an annoying blonde power walker with her truck would capture anyone’s heart. But Ma is more than just a campy thriller — it’s also a surprisingly effective portrait of a lonely woman desperate to be loved. Ma is a solid film with a tragic ending, and with a recently announced sequel in the works now’s the time to watch the original that everyone fell in love with.

‘Drop’ (2025)

Getting back into the dating scene is a nightmare for Violet Gates (Meghann Fahy) in Drop. After years of being a single widowed mother, Violet’s young son, Toby (Jacob Robinson), and Violet’s sister, Jen (Violett Beane), encourage her to go on a date with Henry Campbell (Brandon Sklenar), a man she met through a dating site.

Although Violet’s date with Henry starts well, she is harassed by strange and alarming messages on her phone that ultimately threaten the life of her son. And if Violet doesn’t cooperate with Toby’s captor and act against Henry then she may never see her son alive again.

Drop is now streaming on Peacock.

‘The Outfit’ (2022)

The Outfit takes place almost exclusively in the tailor shop of Leonard Burling (Mark Rylance) in 1956. Leonard’s primary clientele is the Irish mob, as led by Roy Boyle (Simon Russell Beale) and his son, Richie (Dylan O’Brien). Despite his misgivings, Leonard even lets Richie’s girlfriend, Mable Shaun (Zoey Deutch), work at the shop.

Things start to unravel when Richie shows up at the shop badly wounded alongside his top enforcer, Francis (Johnny Flynn). The Boyle family is convinced that they have a rat in the organization, and the proof is waiting in the shop. As Leonard soon discovers, that intel is also worth killing over.

‘Black Bag’ (2025)

Steven Soderbergh‘s spy thriller Black Bag features Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett as a pair of married MI6 operatives, George Woodhouse and Kathryn St. Jean. They’re far from the only couple in MI6, but their relationship status hits some roadblocks after George is told there’s a traitor in MI6.

Someone close to George has leaked sensitive intel, and it’s his job to determine who did it. Five people conceivably could be behind the leak, one of whom is his wife. As much as George would like to ignore that possibility, Kathryn’s suspicious activities make her his No. 1 suspect.

‘Memento’ (2000)

Before Christopher Nolan made his name directing the Dark Knight trilogy, his calling card in Hollywood was Memento. For his first trick, Nolan shows audiences the ending of Memento before they realize what it means. Then he lets the story unfold in two parallel narratives before catching up with the conclusion.

13 Must-Watch Thrillers on Netflix Right Now (July 2025)

The film revolves around Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce), a man who lost his wife and his ability to make new long-term memories due to a brutal attack. Now, Leonard’s memories reset nearly every ten minutes, and he’s not sure if he can trust the people around him, including Natalie (Carrie-Anne Moss) and Teddy (Joe Pantoliano). Everyone seems to take advantage of Leonard’s condition, including Leonard himself.
