Liam Neeson is reuniting with his mother-in-law, Vanessa Redgrave, for a new film 16 years after the death of his wife, Natasha Richardson.

A Wednesday, August 6, trailer revealed Neeson, 73, and Redgrave, 88, both appear in the 2026 sci-fi comedy movie Cold Storage, which also stars Stranger Things star Joe Keery, Barbarian star Georgina Campbell, Smile star Sosie Bacon and Grown-Ups star Lesley Manville.

“Teacake (Keery) and Naomi (Campbell), two young employees of a self-storage company built on the site of an old US military base, have their wildest night shift ever when a parasitic fungus escapes from the lowest sublevel of the base, where it was sealed by the government decades before,” the film’s logline reads. “As the temperature rises underground, this highly contagious and rapidly mutating microorganism multiplies and unleashes its brain-controlling, body-bursting terrors on the facility’s inhabitants – human and otherwise. With time running out, it’s down to Teacake and Naomi, with the help of a grizzled retired bioterror operative (Neeson), to contain the merciless menace and prevent the explosive extinction of Mankind itself.”

While Neeson is one of the coleads, Redgrave’s character briefly appears in the trailer with a shocked expression on her face.

Cold Storage, directed by Jonny Campbell and written by David Koepp, is based on Koepp’s 2019 novel of the same name. The movie marks Neeson and Redgrave’s first time working on the same film. However, Neeson previously revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in March 2024 that he didn’t share any scenes with Richardson’s mother in the movie.

“In fact, the day she started work was the day I actually flew back home from Rome,” he explained. “But we were in the same hotel, and so we had dinner. Her character and her scenes in the film, she’s probably going to steal the movie. She’s perfect casting for it. It’s a good script and a good story.”

Neeson and Redgrave have remained close since Richardson’s death at 45 years old in 2009 after a skiing accident. The Taken actor and the Parent Trap star were married for 15 years and welcomed two children, sons Micheál, 30, and Daniel, 28, before her passing.

“It was great doing it every night with her and falling in love,” he said of the show in a July 31 profile for The New York Times.

Though Neeson remained single for many years following Richardson’s death, he recently sparked a romance with his Naked Gun costar Pamela Anderson.

“Pamela and Liam are dating,” a source exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly on July 29, noting that the pair “always had chemistry while they were filming and their friendship naturally developed into more.”

The relationship seemingly has the approval of Richardson and Neeson’s loved ones. After Anderson, 58, shared photos of herself and her costar-turned-boyfriend via Instagram, Daniel commented several emojis: “🙌🙌🔥🔥🤍🤍🔫.”

Meanwhile, Richardson’s sister, Joely Richardson, commented seven red hearts.

Andy Cohen, who was a close friend of Richardson’s, also shared how her inner circle feels about the romance.

“Natasha was a dear friend of mine,” Cohen, 57, said on Sirius XM’s Radio Andy on July 30. “And I’m gonna tell you something, I and all of the friends in this circle, are very much stanning, whatever this is. … As I was telling him at the premiere party, I go, ‘Liam, she is an independent woman just like Tash was. She loves to cook. She has her own thing going on. She has two boys. This just works.’”
