Ravenscraig Castle
Hasn’t gone too well in some flat contests recently but he’s plummeted in the weights in the matter of a few runs and he’s going up to 2m for the first time.
That’s key as he’s shown among the best form over this distance when rated 83 placing second over 1m6f.
He also cruised to victory carrying top-weight just nine days ago over hurdles and could be dangerous if just one of these reasons becomes prominent.
Calafiori
Looks a great shot here considering he’s running off the same mark as last week, rated 3lb higher than what he’s running with today so should make the most of that.
This George Boughey-trained two-year-old has registered three 2nd place finishes now and the latest of those came just last week losing by a short head.
He was carrying 15lb more than the winner, Dinamo, in which he did incredibly well to challenge for the win in the end having been denied a clear run when trying to go forward.
His form behind Davvy has worked out well too when beaten as the odds-on favourite at Redcar back in May, with that horse going on to win a sellers handicap at Leicester which would have also stood out to punters when betting on this two-year-old last week.
This move to the all-weather is an interesting one and could be just what he needs.
