Dana White is in the process of selecting who will be on the UFC card at the White House.
Earlier in the year the US President, Donald Trump, announced his plans to hold a historic event as past of the 250th celebrations of America’s independence.

Plenty of fighters are vying for a spot on the prestigious event, including Conor McGregor and Jon Jones who have both re-entered the UFC‘s drug testing pool in order to qualify.
White had previously stated that Jones vs Aspinall would be his dream White House headliner, but later U-turned and suggested he would not like to see him compete on the event.
Now that White has confirmed the event will be happening on July 4 2026, he has made it quite clear that he thinks McGregor would be the more reliable option between him and Jones.
White explained his stance on The Jim Rome Show: “I trust Conor [McGregor].
“McGregor has never, unless he seriously injured, this guy has always delivered. Jon [Jones], I’m a little more skeptical about.
“[Jones] already came back. He already put himself back in the testing pool, saying he wants to fight at the White House.
“He’s back, but we’re not talking about fights for him right now.”
When Jones came back from a three-year period of inactivity in 2023, he ended his fight with Ciryl Gane in 124 seconds.
He fought once more, against Stipe Miocic, before retiring from the sport and vacating his heavyweight title for Tom Aspinall to takeover.
Should McGregor be offered a spot on the card, he would be returning from a stint out of the Octagon himself.
The last time that McGregor fought under the promotion was July 10 2021, when he left the ring with a broken leg during his second consecutive loss to Dustin Poirier.

McGregor was gearing up to make a comeback against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last June, but the Irishman had to pull out because of a broken toe.
What do we know so far about UFC at the White House?
While no official information has been given on the lineup as of yet, we know that White is in the process of planning the event for July 4.
The UFC boss revealed to CBS that he will be sitting down with the President and his wife, Ivanka Trump, later in the month to finalise details.
The news comes as the UFC have signed new $7.7billion broadcast deal with Paramount and CBS.
Meaning that the days of pay-per-view are gone in the promotion, as all of the UFC’s numbered fights and Fight Nights from 2026 will be distributed by Paramount+.
As a result, it will likely be broadcast as a free-to-air event, a historic landmark for the promotion.
