We’re about to get a sneak peek of what the top of the current NCAA Tournament field looks like.

On Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET, CBS will reveal the current top 16 seeds for the Men’s NCAA Tournament, essentially an early snapshot of how the selection committee views the bracket right now.

NCAA Committee Chair Keith Gill will join Adam Zucker, Wally Szczerbiak, Clark Kellogg, and Seth Davis in the studio, with additional coverage continuing at 1 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.

It’s clear what the networks are aiming for here. College Football Playoff ranking reveals generate huge conversation every fall, and college basketball should benefit from that same kind of buzz and debate.

It will not affect actual selection decisions, but it does give fans an early look at how things might shake out and something to discuss as March approaches.

Should be fun, though unfortunately, it won’t include the Kentucky Wildcats in the top 16 after a brutal home defeat to Georgia, who was firmly on the bubble before the win. Even if the Wildcats won, most projections had them in the 6-seed range.
