Demi Lovato is striking out some of her tour dates for health reasons!

The popstar shared with her eager fans that her highly anticipated tour will now begin on a completely different date to enable her to prepare her body, mind, and soul for the return to the stage, although some fans are claiming it is because she cannot get the tickets to move.

Demi Lovato had previously canceled her tour dates in South America in 2018 to focus on her recovery after she was released from Cedars-Sinai for treatment following a drug overdose episode the same year at her Hollywood Hills home.

The star took time out to inform her fans that, despite her excitement to return to the stage and perform in as many cities as she could, she realized that she may have overextended her health in ways that were possible.

The singer added that she needed to "build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off" that will allow her handle the entire run of the tour.

Lovato then informed Charlotte, Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Denver of her decision to no longer perform in the cities. She also shifted the date for her tour in Orlando to April 13, assuring those who purchased tickets through Ticketmaster or AXS that refunds will be issued automatically.

The pop singer added that fans who purchased their tickets from resellers should reach out to their point of purchase for a refund, noting that Orlando fans who bought tickets have no issues, and additional tickets will be added for interested fans. Lovato concluded her post, writing:

"I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me! Thank you for your support always. I love you, and I cannot wait to see you soon."

Internet users have since begun reacting to the news, with some claiming that there is more to the story than meets the eye, to such a sudden announcement for a very anticipated project.

According to this X subscriber: "You mean - you can't sell tickets," as another commenter stated that she should have rescheduled some of the shows instead of outrightly cancelling them.

"Translation: there's way less demand than we thought there would be," another Internet user theorized, echoing a similar thought from this X subscriber who insisted the more rest and rehearsal claims were simply a cover-up for the "abysmal ticket sales."

A fifth commenter expressed the same opinion about poor ticket sales, while this fan took a very direct approach with her criticism of how the singer had gone about promotion for this tour: "as a lovatic there's only Demi to blame. Who made her think that a few TikToks would sell out her largest tour since 2018?"

The last time Lovato was on a tour in 2018, she also cancelled some scheduled performances in Mexico and in six cities in South America after she experienced a medical emergency. The Disney alum announced the decision in a candid statement and informed her fans that ticket refunds will be made available.

As reported by PEOPLE, Lovato was ferried to the hospital on July 24, 2018, after a substance overdose. Although her publicist confirmed that she was awake and fully surrounded by her family, the star revealed in her statement that she would need more time to focus on her sobriety and recovery after such a tough encounter.

Lovato emphasized in the statement that her struggles with addiction were not a secret, and it is certainly not an illness that disappears overnight or fades with the snap of a finger; rather, it is something that needs commitment and continuous effort to overcome.

The singer thanked God for sparing her life and her fans for standing by her side with positive thoughts and prayers along the way. The star promised her fans to keep fighting the illness, which has had her visiting treatment centers multiple times in the past.

In 2010, she received professional intervention for bipolar disorder, bulimia, self-harm, and addiction, before she relapsed and entered a sober living facility for a year.

Lovato's visit to the hospital after her drug overdose episode left her with some damning revelations and realizations, which she revealed in her 2021 docuseries "Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil."

As noted by E! Online, the project focused on her past heroin addiction and overdose, and how she thought she could choose a lesser evil by smoking weed and drinking in moderation.

Unfortunately for the actress, she recalled how she would end up taking so much weed and edibles as high as 300mg at the time, hence replacing her addiction with something else to get addicted to.

She also addressed how her weight gain added to the depression she experienced, where she would stay in her room all day and avoid everyone.

In 2021, she finally decided to cut off all substances in her life and went in for treatment, dropping the "California sober" style for a more proactive approach at alcohol and drug-free lifestyle.

However, her stint with drugs and addiction left her with some far-reaching effects on her vision, which has now stopped her from driving because of the blind spots in her line of sight.

"I wish I didn't overdose because it I have hearing impairment, I have vision impairment and that was just an awful thing to put my family and friends through.' But I also have to remember the importance of not living in the past and not having regrets for things," the star noted.

The media personality, whose pronouns are they/them/she/her, tied the knot with her songwriter/singer heartthrob, Jutes, last May at the Clark Estate in California, which offered the big day a breathtaking view of the city and the Pacific Ocean's coastline.

As noted by The Blast, the duo sparked dating rumors in 2022, making their red carpet debut the following year amid kisses and PDA. Beyond being lovers, Lovato and her beau also collaborate on music, and she has credited the Canadian musician for helping her get back to a place where she found the spark to write love songs again.

Lovato stunned on her big day in not one, but two Vivienne Westwood looks, which made her look every inch the perfect bride with her main dress designed with a heavy silk satin fabric, a corset bodice, and a single-tier, custom-length cathedral-style veil made from ivory tulle.

The singer also had the pleasure of her longtime pal and top Hollywood socialite, Paris Hilton, take over the DJ set during the reception. She ended the night leaving with her husband in a vintage car with cheers from their well-wishers.
