Eric Edholm's first 2026 NFL mock draft for the league's official website has the Denver Broncos shoring up their inside linebacker position.
Edholm's mock projects Cincinnati linebacker Jake Golday landing in Denver late in the first round.
"Golday could sneak into Round 1 if he tests well at the combine," Edholm wrote for NFL.com. "He's a do-it-all linebacker with range, hustle and instincts, and the Broncos could use one more three-down difference-maker up front, even as good as their defense already is."
Golday (6-4, 240 pounds) totaled 163 tackles, five sacks, five pass breakups, three forced fumbles and one fumble recovery in two seasons (24 games) with the Bearcats. Alex Singleton and Justin Strnad are both scheduled to become free agents in March, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Denver draft a linebacker in April.
The 2026 NFL draft will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23-25. After receiving two compensatory picks this spring, the Broncos will hold nine selections in this year's draft.
