A Texas social media influencer has been placed on a heightened supervision status in jail after being accused of allegedly sexually assaulting a 2-year-old girl on video.
Kandy Red Bread — real name Victor L. Corey Paillet III — was arrested on January 16 and charged with promotion of child pornography and aggravated sexual assault of a child “following an extensive on-scene investigation and the execution of multiple search warrants,” according to a press release published by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office earlier this week.
He is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail, where he has been put on “modified safety watch” since his incarceration, per KPRC 2. This is usually done when suspects have either tried to harm themselves, or are believed to be in danger of similar behavior. Details on the situation are unclear at this time.
Prior to his arrest, Paillet, 40, ran an Instagram account centered around car customizations. It has more than 60,000 followers.
Woman Accused of Sending Explicit Video of Child to Victim's Abuser
As Us Weekly previously reported, authorities were first alerted to the situation when the influencer’s former girlfriend — who is the mother of the 2-year-old child in question — found a recording of the alleged sexual assault in his phone.
“I’ve never went through his phone before, never, but his phone was right there, and I’m like, I just feel something’s not right,” she told KPRC 2.
In a separate interview with ABC 13, the victim’s mother, who has chosen to remain anonymous, said: “She’s just a baby, like why would you do this to a baby, like how can you do this to her, how can you do this to me? I just keep seeing that video over and over in my head … I literally haven’t been able to sleep, I’ve just been crying so much lately.”
She also noted that her daughter has “changed” and has become “so clingy” since the alleged attack. The mother has since chosen to break the lease for their home because she didn’t want to live in a place where she says her daughter has suffered trauma.
“We both do need to seek therapy for sure. We’re going to try and get some help,” she added. “I just hope everyone comes forward, so we can all get the justice that we deserve.”
