The Cleveland Browns' quest for a head coach continues, this time requesting to interview yet another young and defensive-minded head coach. The Browns have put in a request to interview Los Angeles Rams' defensive coordinator Chris Shula.
Shula joins defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and Seattle Seahawks' defensive coordinator Aden Durde as defensive-minded coaches to interview in Cleveland after the firing of former head coach Kevin Stefanski. The list of candidates the Browns have interviewed, or requested to interview, has now reached 12 candidates. You can find every candidate listed here.

Shula started his coaching career at Ball State as a linebackers coach. He then moved to a graduate assistant role at Indiana University, and the defensive coordinator at John Carroll University in Cleveland before moving to the NFL ranks. Since 2015, Shula has spent time with the Los Angeles Chargers, but has been with the Rams since 2019. He has climbed the ranks, starting as the assistant linebackers coach all the way to defensive coordinator.
The Rams, of course, are still playing as the NFL moves on to the second round of the playoffs, so the Browns cannot officially bring him in until after their season comes in. They can, however, meet with him over Zoom.
