On Saturday after emerging from the bench, he was only on the field a matter of moments before finding the net, and, although it took a bit longer this time, Benjamin Nygren’s header on the cusp of half time was worth the wait and easilythe Celtic highpoint of the 90 minutes.
It was the Swedish midfielder’s 12th goal of the season, and he is very pleased at helping to turn the set-piece tide for the Hoops.
He told Celtic TV after the game: “It wasn’t our best performance, but in the end it’s about winning.
“Previously we haven’t won these kinds of games, so I’m very glad for everyone that we won.
‘In some games we’ve been conceding some set-pieces, and they were the better side in the first half, but then we scored with a set-piece and came in 1-0.'
“And then we came out with a little bit more intensity, but they played a good game tonight as well.
“We’re not pleased with the performance, but, in the end, it’s about getting the three points and that’s what we did.
“I always want to contribute to as many goals as possible, so I’m very pleased to be able to help the team in that.”
