San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has had an excellent year in 2025, playing in all 16 games and rushing for 1,179 yards and 10 touchdowns while catching 96 passes for another 890 yards and seven touchdowns.
McCaffrey had one of his best games of the season on Sunday night against the Chicago Bears at Levi's Stadium, as he rushed for a season-high 140 yards and a touchdown on 6.1 yards per attempt. He also caught four passes for 41 yards.
McCaffrey's 140 yards on the ground were enough to move him past three-time Super Bowl champion Steve Young for the ninth-most rushing yards in 49ers history. Young rushed for 3,581 yards with San Francisco from 1987-99, while making seven Pro Bowls, earning All-Pro honors six times and winning two NFL MVPs.
McCaffrey could move up again in Week 18, as he sits just 29 yards from passing Kevan Barlow for the eighth-most in San Francisco's record books.
