One of the top running backs in the 2027 cycle is narrowing his list of top schools.
Baylor School (Tenn.) five-star RB David Gabriel Georges told Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett on Monday evening that he’s down to eight programs: Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Texas.
Gabriel Georges, a Quebec, Canada native, is the No. 20 overall prospect and No. 2 RB in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked junior in Tennessee.
The 6-foot, 205-pounder is coming off a monster junior campaign for one of the top high school programs in Tennessee. Baylor School won a state title and Gabriel Georges entered the championship game with 25 touchdowns and over 1,600 yards on the ground.
He’s acquired offers from just about every high-profile college program in the nation and is working closer to a decision. Ohio State currently has the edge in the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Gabriel Georges talks top schools
When speaking with Rivals’ Chad Simmons this fall, Gabriel Georges gave some insight into his recruitment and talked about some of the schools that made his top eight on Monday evening:
Georgia: “I like Georgia’s culture. From the weight room to practice to the game — it’s all about work and getting better. I like what they do there and how they do it.”
Ohio State: “Coach Locklyn is someone I can really learn from. He’s a great coach and he knows how to develop running backs. He’s easy to talk to and I like what he is about.”
Tennessee: “The environment and the coaches really make me like Tennessee. It’s a great school with great people. My mom, dad, aunt, and uncle saw it and they liked it a lot too. The coaches are the main thing for me — they’ve done a great job with me and my family.”
“I’m going to take my time. I will take my official visits before I make any kind of decision.”
