After Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said he was “still processing” former Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore's firing and arrest when asked by reporters on Friday, Dec. 12. Now that a few days have passed since his initial reaction, Harbaugh revealed he’s been in communication with Moore on the troubling situation.

While appearing on “The Dan Patrick Show” on Tuesday morning, Harbaugh revealed that he’s texted with Moore since his arrest, and advised the legally embattled former Wolverines head coach to take care of his family and seek spiritual guidance.

“It’s a tragedy. The worst days of his life,” Harbaugh responded when asked about Moore’s spirits. “Keep it together and take care of your family. That’s the message. And getting spiritual guidance is really critical.”

Moore was arrested Dec. 10 in the immediate hours after Michigan informed him of his termination and was placed in custody at the Washtenaw County Jail in Ann Arbor, Mich., as part of what police called an assault investigation.

According to court documents released on Friday, Dec. 12, Moore faces criminal allegations of felony third-degree home invasion, misdemeanor stalking-domestic relationship, and misdemeanor breaking and entering.

Moore had spent eight seasons at Michigan, including six years on Harbaugh's staff in various assistant coaching/coordinator roles. Following Harbaugh's acceptance of the Chargers' head coaching job, Moore was hired a few weeks later after earning the recommendation from Harbaugh to be the next Wolverines' head coach.

Although Harbaugh said he has communicated with Moore via text, the coach said he remains solely focused on the Chargers and their upcoming Week 16 road game against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Dec. 21.

“I still don’t have my head wrapped around it. It’s a tragedy, and just praying for all concerned,” Harbaugh said. "I love my alma mater, I love Michigan and I love the Chargers, too. I would be doing a disservice if I wasn’t putting all my focus on this game. This is the most important game for us.”

The Chargers (10-4) and the Cowboys (6-7-1) are set to kick off on Sunday at 10 a.m. PT on FOX.
