INDIANAPOLIS — Fernando Mendoza came up with big throws to lead Indiana football to its first outright Big Ten championship in 80 years, and it came against his best competition for the Heisman Trophy.

Mendoza led the No. 2 Hoosiers to a 13-10 victory over No. 1 Ohio State in front of an IU-dominated crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday night. Expect those rankings to flip, at the very least, when the College Football Playoff committee announces their rankings Sunday.

Mendoza had three memorable completions in the victory: A 17-yard pass to Elijah Sarratt for IU's lone touchdown, a 51-yard deep shot to Charlie Becker in the third quarter and then the game-clinching 33-yard strike to Becker up the far seam.

Mendoza had a slight edge in the Heisman odds one week ago. Here's a look at their stats, how it has changed and more.
