Houston Astros vs Colorado Rockies (8:10pm, EST)

Colorado Rockies First Five Innings Team Total Under 1.5: (-160) at BetMGM Sportsbook

The Colorado Rockies have been an embarrassment on offense since the start of the regular season as their lineup currently ranks near dead last in Team Total Hits, On Base Percentage, and in Slugger Percentage.

Their inability to make contact and get on base drastically hurts their chances of scoring as the Rockies also rank well below league average in RBIs and in Total Runs Scored.

Unfortunately for Colorado, the Rockies struggles on offense are poised to persist as they are set to battle it out against Hunter Brown who is currently averaging an ERA of 2.36, a WHIP of 1.013, and a FIP of 2.91.

Houston’s back end also helps reduce the amount of contact variance in Brown’s starts as the Astros defense ranks 11th overall in Defensive Efficiency and 6th in Fielding Percentage.

Houston Astros First Five Innings Run Line -1.5: (+100) at BetMGM Sportsbook

On the other side of the field, the Astros offense draws a much more favorable matchup as they face off against Tanner Gordon who has severely underwhelmed this season.

In his nine starts, Gordon is averaging an ERA of 7.11 and nearly two runners on base per inning. Expect the Astros to exploit Gordon’s lack of command and get in scoring position at a high rate while he is on the mound.

Chicago Cubs vs San Francisco Giants (9:45pm, EST)

Matthew Boyd Over 17.5 Outs: (-130) at Caesars Sportsbook

Like the Rockies, the San Francisco Giants offense have also severely struggled this season as their lineup ranks below league average in the same previously mentioned offensive metrics.

Their aggression at the plate leaves them prone to lengthy droughts as the Giants offense also ranks well below league average in Strikeout Rate.

With Matthew Boyd on the mound, the Giants struggles with making contact will be on full display as the Chicago Cubs pitcher enters the contest averaging an ERA of 2.61, a WHIP of 1.041, a FIP of 3.28, and less than one Hit Allowed per Inning Pitched.

Even though his Strikeout Rate is low, his back end makes up for it with their coverage as the Cubs defense ranks in the top three in Defensive Efficiency.

Patrick Bailey Under 0.5 Hit: (-110) at Caesars Sportsbook

It has been a year to forget for Patrick Bailey as the Giants batter heads into the final stretch of the season, averaging less than one Hit per game, a .211 Batting Average, and a .563 OPS.

With Boyd avoiding contact at a consistent rate, as well as being supported by a productive defense, expect Bailey to continue to struggle at the plate and be held without a Hit.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs Milwaukee Brewers (7:40pm, EST)

Brandon Pfaadt Under 4.5 Strikeouts: (+104) at FanDuel Sportsbook

After entering the year listed as one of the contenders for the NL West division title, the Arizona Diamondbacks have failed to live up to their preseason expectations as they are currently 11 games back from the Los Angeles Dodgers for first. Brandon Pfaadt has played a major role in their struggles as the Diamondbacks pitcher is averaging an ERA of 4.95 and a FIP of 4.35.

Against Milwaukee, expect Pfaadt to continue to underwhelm as he faces off against a Brewers offence that ranks second overall in Contact Rate and in On Base Percentage.

For some more exposure, escalator bet Pfaadt’s Strikeout prop by placing smaller wagers on his alternate unders at the best available odds across multiple sportsbooks.
