Emma Raducanu is about to put a three-year hoodoo behind her as she prepares to begin her US Open women’s singles campaign.
The Briton shot to prominence in 2021 when she became the first qualifier to win a Grand Slam in the Open era at Flushing Meadows.

But in the tournaments that have followed in New York, it’s been a barren run for Raducanu.
Since her groundbreaking triumph, the 22-year-old is yet to taste victory at the US Open having succumbed to first round exits in 2022 and 2024 having skipped the 2023 iteration as she recovered from surgery.
Not even a partnership with five-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz in the revamped mixed doubles in New York could secure Raducanu her first win in four years at the US Open.
However, Raducanu has worked her way to regain the British number one ranking from Katie Boulter and is 35th in the world, her second-highest ranking since August 2022.
