Last season saw the Serie A title race go down to the final day as Napoli held off Inter Milan to triumph by just a single point, but movement at various clubs throughout the summer suggests there may be less drama in the Scudetto race this time around.
Juventus and Atalanta took the other top-four spots last term but both are in flux and there could be a much hotter race in the battle for Champions League football, with numerous teams in the hunt.
Here we pick out the best bets for the upcoming Serie A season.

Gli Azzurri are on track to retain their title
There were fears Antonio Conte would depart after leading Napoli to the 2024-25 Scudetto but the enigmatic manager has stayed put, making them worthy favourites to retain their crown.
They have not stood still either. Sam Beukema has been signed to bolster a defence which conceded a league-low 27 goals last term, while elite playmaker Kevin De Bruyne should slot in perfectly next to defensive powerhouse Franck Zambo Anguissa and reigning Serie A MVP Scott McTominay in midfield.
De Bruyne should also improve Napoli’s attacking output as he rekindles a connection with Romelu Lukaku, which has been consistently dangerous on the international stage for Belgium over the years, while fellow new signing Noa Lang is likely to provide an added threat from wide areas.
Last season’s closest challenger Inter Milan have seen influential manager Simone Inzaghi depart for Saudi Arabia and their performances at the Club World Cup did nothing to suggest an inexperienced Christian Chivu can keep tabs on Conte’s champions.
Juventus, Atalanta and AC Milan are also sides in transition, meaning Napoli, who are settled and were already the best team in Italy, should have a clear run at the title.
Roma ready to make their Champions League return
No Serie A side has taken more points in 2025 than Roma’s 49, so it is a surprise to see that Italy’s most in-form team are odds-against to finish in the top four.
Claudio Ranieri, the man who oversaw 15 wins in the capital club’s final 20 games of last season, may have departed but his replacement is another experienced coach who has often overachieved in this league, Gian Piero Gasperini.
The former Atalanta boss is known for his attacking style and with a strong foundation to build upon, Roma can pick up where they left off.
Gasperini has a settled squad to work with, too, unlike many of Roma’s rivals. AC Milan have lost two of their best players, Tijjani Reijnders and Theo Hernandez, while Atalanta have seen last season’s Serie A top scorer, Mateo Retegui, as well as their influential manager depart.
Evan Ferguson and Artem Dovbyk are strikers who can benefit from Gasperini’s methods and the Wolves should score plenty of goals while securing a spot in next season’s Champions League.
