All 24 League Two teams return to action in midweek, with 11 games on Tuesday and one on Wednesday.

We have previewed five of the games taking place this week, including league leaders Crewe Alexandra’s trip to Fleetwood.

A £10 wager on our three-leg acca would pay out £71.76, while the same stake on our five-leg version offers a potential return of £239.20.

Gillingham vs Chesterfield: Gillingham or draw

Chesterfield boast a 100 percent winning record at the beginning of 2025/26, and they will be targeting a fourth consecutive victory on Tuesday.

An injury crisis arguably prevented Chesterfield from being right in the mix for automatic promotion last term, and the evidence of the current campaign suggests they will be there or thereabouts in the battle to reach League One.

Paul Cook knows what it takes to win promotion in the EFL and the Chesterfield manager, who is in his second spell in charge of the club, will be delighted with his team’s start.

Gillingham are also unbeaten, with one win and two draws to their name. Gareth Ainsworth’s side scored in second-half stoppage time to rescue a point against Tranmere Rovers at the weekend.

The Gills will be a tough nut to crack this season and we like their chances of taking something from this meeting with Chesterfield, for whom a point would not be a bad result.

Cheltenham Town vs Bromley: Bromley to win

Cheltenham Town have had a miserable start to the season with three defeats in three league matches.

The 2024/25 campaign was underwhelming for Cheltenham and it looks like the team might have gone backwards over the summer.

After defeats by Cambridge United (0-1) and Chesterfield (0-2), Cheltenham were on the wrong end of a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of MK Dons last time out.

Granted, MK have a much bigger budget than Cheltenham and should win promotion this year, but the lack of fight from Michael Flynn’s team was worrying.

Bromley, a direct, physical and uncompromising team, are well equipped to take full advantage of Cheltenham’s woes.

Andy Woodman’s team will be targeting all three points on their upcoming visit to what is currently known as the EV Charger Points Stadium.

Fleetwood vs Crewe Alexandra: Both teams to score

After his team’s form collapsed in the second half of last season, Crewe Alexandra manager Lee Bell needed a strong start to 2025/26.

That is exactly what he has got. Crewe sit at the summit of the standings after three games, and while no one at Gresty Road will be getting carried away just yet, the Railwaymen have looked excellent so far.

Following victories over Salford City (3-1) and Accrington Stanley (2-0), a goal from Tommi O’Reilly was enough for Crewe to beat Crawley Town at the weekend.

Their next task comes against Fleetwood United, who have seven points to their name as they target promotion to League One.

Both teams have scored in two of Fleetwood’s three league games, while their EFL Cup first-round tie against Barnsley was a 2-2 draw.

Goals at both ends is the way to go in this one.

Crawley Town vs MK Dons: MK Dons to keep a clean sheet

MK Dons have not been perfect in the first few weeks of 2025/26, but they have not been far off.

MK stumbled on matchday one, only managing a 0-0 draw with Oldham Athletic at home, but since then they have beaten Barrow (2-0) and Cheltenham Town (5-0).

Paul Warne’s team have been very solid up to now. They have kept three clean sheets and have the second-lowest xG against in the division, narrowly behind Chesterfield.

Crawley Town, for their part, are second-bottom of the standings having scored only one goal in 270 minutes of League Two football.

MK should prove too strong for Crawley on Tuesday, with another clean sheet a distinct possibility for the promotion favourites.

⚽ Back MK Dons to keep a clean sheet at 6/4 with Sky Bet ⚽

Notts County vs Shrewsbury Town: Over 1.5 goals

Notts County and Shrewsbury Town have both collected one point from a possible nine in the first few weeks of the League Two campaign.

Both teams are looking to belatedly pick up their first win of the season on Wednesday, when Shrewsbury head to the East Midlands.

Shrewsbury have not even scored a goal so far, although they only have the seventh-lowest xG in the division. They should find the back of the net soon.

Notts County, on the other hand, have scored in all three matches so far, with Martin Paterson’s team instead needing to tighten up at the back.

Both teams will see this match as eminently winnable, so neither Notts County nor Shrewsbury is likely to hold back.
