Luke Humphries was outdone by a darts announcer at the New Zealand Darts Masters.
‘Cool Hand’ stormed to the final in Auckland before losing to Luke Littler on Saturday.

However, the most memorable moment of his weekend may have been during a practice session stage.
Humphries, Damon Heta and Chris Dobey were joined by MC and referee Richard Ashdown.
A video of their interaction shows Ashdown being handed a dart by Humphries before checking out double three at the first attempt.
Sharing the clip to social media, he revealed he had been offered three darts to achieve the feat but said he would ‘only need one’.
Alongside the post, Ashdown wrote: “Whilst enjoying my tea break in Auckland, I watched @lukeh180 @Dobey180 @DamonHeta180 practicing, before the final session of the PDC NZ Darts Masters.
“Luke offered me three darts at double three. I told him I would only need one, as I’d already drank my tea and got my coat…”
The trio of Humphries, Dobey and Heta were left stunned as they failed to control their laughter after Ashdown’s heroics.
It even prompted a response from the world no.1 on X, as he said: “Unreal scenes! One dart Ashdown. One of the coldest things I’ve ever seen… and just walks off to never be seen again.”
The former world champion saw off both Dobey and Heta on his way to the final in Auckland.
However, he was beaten 8-4 by Littler in the showpiece clash.

It denied him the chance to defend the title he won in 2024, his first at a World Series event.
Following the match, Humphries said: “I played pretty well today, but when you run into a 115 average, there’s not much you can do.
“I think if I’d won that sixth leg it might have given me a glimmer of hope, but the better player won for sure.
“When Luke’s on it, he’s untouchable. I held in there and I gave it my best, but he was just too good in the end.”
Humphries has tasted victory on the World Series since his triumph in New Zealand last year.
He beat Nathan Aspinall in the final of the US Darts Masters back in June.
It adds to triumphs in the World Masters and Premier League already this year.
