Tyne Daly shared some insight on why she wasn’t in attendance for her brother Tim Daly’s wedding to Téa Leoni.
“There was a small wedding. Very exclusive, very, very private,” Tyne, 79, said in an interview with People on Saturday, August 16, adding that Tim, 69, and Leoni’s nuptials took place at their “beautiful apartment in New York.”
Tyne insinuated that only the couple’s parents were present for the ceremony, but there were no hard feelings.
“They only had people that they gave birth to or people who gave birth to them,” she noted. “However, I’m going to see the newlyweds quite soon.”
Madam Secretary’s Tea Leoni and Tim Daly Are Married After Dating 11 Years
Tyne added that Tim and Leoni, 59, planned on having an additional celebration with loved ones at a later date.
Us Weekly confirmed that Tim and Leoni tied the knot last month after dating for more than a decade. The pair had an intimate ceremony with immediate family present.
Tim and Leoni first connected on the set of their hit series Madam Secretary, which aired from September 2014 to December 2019. The twosome played husband and wife, Elizabeth and Henry McCord, on the drama for six seasons.
Following Leoni’s divorce from David Duchovny in 2014, the actress was spotted supporting Tim in a play he was starring in. Leoni and Duchovny were married for 17 years and share two children, West, 25, and Kyd, 21. Tim, for his part, was previously married to Amy Van Nostrand from 1982 to 2010. The exes share son Sam, 41, and daughter Emelyn, 36.
Us confirmed later that year that Tim and Leoni were dating in real life after growing close on set.
“Their chemistry on set is electrifying,” a source exclusively told Us in December 2014. “They have an amazing time filming.”
The following year, Tim and Leoni made their red carpet debut at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C.
Celebrity Couples Who Got Married in Secret
While Tim and Leoni have kept their romance low-key over the years, the actor gave some insight into their connection in a June 2021 interview on the “Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson” podcast. During the chat, Tim recalled his first impression of Leoni.
“I was like, ‘That’s a cool girl.’ Like, she’s a no-bulls***ter,” the actor reflected. “She’s here to do this acting work, also. She’s not thinking about her position or anything like that.”
Tim reassured Madam Secretary fans that he and Leoni’s romance is “much better” compared to their onscreen relationship.
