Angel Reese may be injured but she’s still enjoying her time off the court.
The WNBA star is currently out with a back injury and has missed the Chicago Sky’s last seven games with no timetable for her return.
Reese has used that time off to enjoy some non-basketball activities, like attending the recent UFC 319 event in Chicago.
The bouts, which took place at the United Center, were headlined by a middleweight scrap between Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev.
Chimaev dominated the five-round title fight to take home the 185lbs gold.
The enthralling event entertained Reese, who took to X after the fight to share her experience.
“UFC is so cool but SCARY,” the two-time WNBA All-Star posted.
However, Chimaev’s win wasn’t the only thing going viral, as Reese’s Instagram stories caught the attention of eagle-eyed fans.
The former LSU star posted a video of her night on her stories and captioned it as “date night.”
The clip also caught the male companion with Reese, who was wearing a grey jacket.
However, his face was not seen in the video.
Nevertheless, some fans were quick to speculate on who the mystery man was.
Despite having zero evidence to prove it, many online claimed that the person with Reese during the UFC event was fellow basketball star and Orlando Magic big man, Wendell Carter Jr.
“I’m watching this UFC fight & I see Wendell Carter & Angel Reese posted,” one fan wrote.
“I swear that’s Wendell Carter jr,” a comment on X read.
“Wendell Carter jr,” a reaction read.
“Was that not Angel Reese and Wendell Carter ?” confirmed a fan.
“Angel Reese is at the UFC fights with Wendell Carter. Need the *damn* drop because she’s looking good,” another said.

Despite the speculation, nobody was actually able to confirm whether it was indeed Carter Jr.
Since neither he or Reese have confirmed if it was him, for now we can take the rumors as just that — rumors.
Reese and Carter Jr have been spotted together before, although it was very much in a basketball capacity.
The Magic star was at the 2025 WNBA All-Star game to seemingly support Reese as he wore a t-shirt with her face on it.
The two even posed for a picture, which drove rumours that the pair are romantically linked.
Again, though, neither player has confirmed that they are together, so until we have official confirmation, it remains internet hearsay.
For now, Reese will be focused on getting back to the court.
In 23 games played this season, the former LSU star has produced averages of 14.2 points, a league-best 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 31.7 minutes per contest.
Chicago has struggled mightily without her and are 8-25 for the season, very much looking from the outside in on the WNBA playoff picture.
