The FedEx Cup playoffs continue this week as the top 50 players in the standings move on to the BMW Championship.
It was Justin Rose who won the first playoff event of the schedule on Sunday, overcoming J.J. Spaun in a dramatic three-hole shootout.

That event had a field of 70, but that has now been cut to just the top 50 in the latest FedEx Cup standings, with Scottie Scheffler still leading the way by some distance.
Last year, it was USA Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley who won the BMW Championship, finishing one shot clear of Ludvig Aberg.
This time around, Scheffler is favourite yet again, while Rory McIlroy is back in action after deciding to skip the St. Jude Championship.
Scheffler is part of the leading pack after the opening round, but it was a late flurry of six birdies in a row that puts Robert MacIntyre at the top of the leaderboard.

BMW Championship: Field and tee times
As mentioned, the field has been cut by 20 players from 70 to 50 for this event.
Jordan Spieth was among the players to miss out and he won’t be playing, with Chris Kirk and Aldrich Potgieter also only just failing to qualify as they sit 51st and 52nd.
Scheffler and McIlroy headline the 50-player field and have been paired together for the opening two rounds.
The opening pairings are based on the current FedEx Cup standings meaning Spaun and Rose are together just days after their play-off battle in Memphis.
Tommy Fleetwood failed in another attempt to claim his first PGA Tour win last week, but he’s back hoping to finally get over the line.
Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Shane Lowry and Collin Morikawa are all amongst the stars teeing it up in Maryland.
The full field, tee times and pairings for the opening two days can be found here.
The latest leaderboard can be found here, with MacIntyre leading on -8 after the opening round of play.
