It’s that time of the year as the NFL season is a stone’s throw away, when people try to convince themselves that the Kansas City Chiefs are yesterday’s news.
People try to convince themselves that there’s no way Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce can do it again, that they can get back to the Super Bowl.

This year, more than ever, more and more people are declaring the Chiefs to be dead, dynasty over.
After all, they are coming off a tremendously humiliating loss in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles; that is fresh in everyone’s minds still. That’s fresh in everyone’s minds still.
However, one man in particular may just take the cake when it comes to predicting how far and hard Kansas City is going to fall this year.
Jason McIntyre, co-host of FS1’s The Herd, made a bold prediction that felt almost like rage bait to the online community. He not only predicted Mahomes and company would miss the playoffs, but he catapulted the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans into his postseason picture ahead of Kansas City.
“T-Swift drops new album, as T-Kelce drops out of playoffs,” McIntyre playfully joked.
“I’m sorry, I got to stick to it guys. I’ve been on this boat for months. I get it, the wide receiver room should be upgraded…But I got to see it.
“I don’t see it from Kelce, I didn’t see it in the playoffs. Obviously we’re Taylor Swift fans here on the show, but I’m sorry, I see some drop off from the Chiefs.
“It’s tough to stay on top forever without reinventing yourself and I didn’t see the reinvention this offseason…I know it’s crazy, but I don’t have the Chiefs in the playoffs and I’m sticking with it.”
It’s one thing to predict the Chiefs won’t make the playoffs, but putting the Jaguars and Titans ahead of them is certainly quite the take.
Tennessee’s starting quarterback is first-overall pick Cam Ward, who has taken exactly zero snaps in the NFL. That’s not to say he won’t be great, but McIntyre may be putting the cart in front of the horse.

The Jaguars will be with a first year head coach in Liam Coen, and need to find consistent quarterback play from Trevor Lawrence, but McIntyre believes they will seemingly figure it all out this year and get into the playoffs.
“Certainly one of the worst takes of the decade,” one fan commented on X.
“Those two teams are closer to getting the first pick next year than the playoffs,” another chimed in.
“Biggest moron on the planet,” one more added.
McIntyre’s other playoff teams from the AFC make more sense. He also picked the Buffalo Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos, Cincinnati Bengals and Los Angeles Chargers.
All reasonable. The Titans and Jaguars? Over the Chiefs? That feels indefensible.
NFL's Greatest......

Ranking the top 10......
Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?
Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?
Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and more
Tight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?
Then again, it’s sports talk radio. McIntyre’s job is to entertain and start discourse. His take on the 2025 Chiefs did exactly that.
And for that, job well done McIntyre.
As for the actual prediction? There’s a better chance of it raining cats and dogs.
