There is a cracking card from Saudi Arabia on Sunday night with Moses Itauma’s heavyweight clash against Dillian Whyte the headline act.

The 20-year-old is rated as one of the big-hitting division’s top prospects and the Kent-based boxer has the chance to get the better of a former British champion in Riyadh.

Moses Itauma vs Dillian Whyte betting tips

  • Under 4.5 rounds @ 9/10
  • Moses Itauma to win in round two @ 15/2

Young star Moses Itauma gets a first crack at the big time when he takes on Dillian Whyte in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night and the 20-year-old can pass the test with ease.

The contest has been billed as the most difficult assignment for the 12-0 rising force and offers of 1/10 do suggest that the Kent-based boxer is facing the trickiest bout of his career.

However, there are a good few reasons to think that Itauma should be considerably shorter to win on Saturday night and those odds will trickle into the derivatives

The 20-year-old destroyed Mike Balogun in three minutes and 46 seconds last time out and prior to that the British boxer crushed Demsey McKean in under two minutes.

McKean had previously lasted 11 rounds against world-level heavyweight Filip Hrgovic and the Aussie was dismissed by Itauma.

Mariusz Wach, who had gone 12 rounds with Whyte earlier in his career, was stopped in two rounds and Whyte may not offer any more threat to Itauma than that trio of opponents.

The Bodysnatcher is at the end of his career and the 37-year-old has fought just twice since 2022.

The Brixton boxer did beat the the awful Ebenezer Tetteh in December, but that is extremely low-level form and not nearly enough to pose a threat to Itauma.

Even at his peak, Whyte was a good way off a top-level heavyweight and there has always been a vulnerability to power.

The Bodysnatcher has been knocked out by Alexander Povetkin, Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua and the 37-year-old hit the deck in wins over Oscar Rivas and Joseph Parker.

Of course, victories against Rivas, Parker, Povetkin and Derek Chisora read well for Whyte, but the latest of those successes came in 2021 when Povetkin was a spent force.

The Bodysnatcher was twice fortunate to beat Chisora, the current version of Parker is not the one Whyte faced, and Rivas has a padded record.

In truth, Whyte’s peak performances are only really that of a domestic-level fighter and it’s unlikely the Bodysnatcher will be anywhere near his best in Saudi Arabia.

At 9/10, backing under 4.5 rounds rates a strong bet and a small play on Itauma to win in round two can also be considered.
